I've always been fascinated by cars. I started photography as a kid with a Kodak Instamatic in Paris taking Black and White photos of cars on the street. I like cars, but I'm not a mechanic. I could never be a mechanic, I do not have the “magic”, like some people, it's a feel.
BMC Motors is a garage in on the Eastside of Vancouver, BC, through the lane. Like all garages, they do the regular maintenance, the oil changes, the repairs… But what makes them different is the restoration of many “old” cars, or in other people's mind: classics. They buy older British cars, and others, like Jaguars, Minis, and Autins, they restore/repair them and sell them.
I like Black and Whites and sometimes, like in this case, the Black and White treatment is much better. It's a garage, concrete floor, cement walls and fluorescent lighting. Nothing on the wall as decoration. As far as garages go, it's not grungy but this is not a hospital, sterile room either, oil, rags… Black and White helps.bmc-motors-20110810-c-pano.jpg — Copyright © 2011 Syv Ritch: http://www.foto-biz.com/usageterms
